CONCLUSION

Based on the present investigation, it was concluded that the phytotoxic effect of cadmium
produced significant reduction of different parameters such as germination and growth of

fenugreek as compared to control. Some suitable mutations were observed at lower
concentration of cadmium. The plants can tolerate Cd toxicity of up to lower doses whereas

the higher doses were genotoxic and mutagenic. Therefore, it may provide a better approach
in identifying the Cd induced toxicity in plants for future breeding programs.
