Filaments much branched, erect, with numerous basal, downward projecting rhizoidal
branches. Branches in the upper portion irregularly. Branches in the upper portion irregularly
disposed and extremely varied in form, mostly alternate. Branches often developing from
short, barrel-shaped cells. Branches tapering to a blunt point. Cells in the main axis 19-20
µm in diameter and branches 15-16 µm in diameter.
