Thalli colonial, forming 4-8 celled coenobia not embedded in mucilaginous envelope. Cells
arranged in a linear or sub alternating series. Cells fusiform to spherical in surface view with
small space between cells. 8 celled colonies always in sub alternating series. Cell walls
smooth, cells uninucleate. Chloroplast single and parietal with single pyrenoid. Cells 3-5 µm
broad 15-18 µm long.

Colonies flat or slightly curved, 2-4-8 cells arranged in a single linear series. Cells oblong
