               CONCLUSION

The study area comprising of southern area of Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh is

quite rich in grass flora Dichanthium annulatum is the dominant grass species among all the

available grass having the highest density, abundance, frequency and IVI. However, several
other alternative grass species also occur in the area and there is potential to use fodder.

These grasses are palatable fodder for livestock. Grasses are prevented to soil erosion and
gripe to soil. Ephemeral vegetation is consisting mainly of grass species, which complete

their life cycle during or soon after rainy season. But in favorable condition some ephemeral

grass species completes their life span during summer/autumn season also. Annual grass
species has been found main component of agricultural land. However, ephemeral grass

species is occupy anywhere in favorable condition. Perennial grass species thrives and tried
to overcome unfavorable season. Some vegetation has good association with grass species

and rescued to grazing of livestock. Association changed to next according to the localized

variation soil and anthropogenic activities. Finally, it has been found that gasses have been
occurred rich diversity in the study area.
