Photoplate 4A.8 Effect of methanolic callus extract of P. pinnata on B. subtilis
               Conclusion :

The seeds of Pongamia pinnata are a wide source of secondary metabolites as the HPTLC
profile had shown different bands representing different biomolecules. Also, callus can be an

alternative source for the production of secondary metabolites. The studies in terms of
qualitative and quantitative analysis need to be done. The methanolic extracts of seed and

callus showed significant inhibition zones. The study reveals the new antimicrobial agent in

the form of Pongamia pinnata callus extracted with methanol will be an alternative to
               synthetic drugs or antibiotic agents.
